Jessica Biel has been added to the star-studded remake of the 1960 classic horror thriller, “Psycho,” where she will play the role as Lila Crane, according to a Deadline report.
Vera Miles was the original Lila Crane as the heroine in the film who is on the hunt for her missing sister, Marion, at the Bates Motel.
The 30-year-old actress joins the ranks of Anthony Hopkins playing Hitchcock, Scarlett Johansson playing Janet Leigh, James D’Arcy playing Anthony Perkins, and Helen Mirren as Alma Reville, Hitchock’s wife in the Sacha Gervasi film.
While “Psycho” has seen its share of remakes, Gervasi’s angle will provide insight about the hardships Hitchcock faced in financing the original film, hence “Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho” as the working title that has yet to have a release date.
“Studios were reluctant to finance Psycho, which led to Hitchcock seeking financing himself. The movie would go on to become, arguably, the director’s most famous and influential work. It scored Oscar nominations for both Hitchcock and Leigh.”
Biel’s year is starting off with a bang! “The Illusionist” actress not only beat out others for the role but will also make an appearance in the “Total Recall” remake, and is engaged to her beau of four years, Justin Timberlake, who obviously has great taste in the ring choices!.
