Looking for a tech job in metro Atlanta? We’ve got good news. One company that already calls Atlanta home is bringing 800 new jobs to the area in 2013, and there’s still time to get in on the hiring.
Airwatch is a mobile device management, application management and mobile content management company known for innovation. They’re clients include Coca-Cola, Delta Air Lines and The Home Depot.
They’ve already hired about 200 new employees, and they’ll be looking for another 600 by the end of the year.
“We basically help people be more productive with their entire fleet of iPads or tablets or smart phones,” said CEO John Marshall.
They do that from an open workspace in Sandy Springs. According to a 2012 study, they aren’t the only tech company that calls Georgia home. There are more than 13,000 tech companies in the state.
Marshall says the Atlanta area is attractive to tech companies because of the three Ts: it has access to talent from local universities like Georgia Tech; it’s on East Coast time; and it’s assessable to international transportation. He says because they’re a global company, it’s very important that they can get nearly anywhere in the world directly.
With the mobile app industry alone making a billion-dollar impact in the state, tech jobs may be leading the way into a global economy.
