Donald Trump spent the weekend attending a few highly anticipated sports events.
The president’s face said it all as he was captured in a split-second moment, pausing for something that seemed more important than the game or the players
He seemed caught in the moment, with his attention drawn to something that was apparently worth it.
Footage from Saturday’s Texas-Tennessee matchup had all the trappings of a presidential appearance.
Air Force One flew low over Neyland Stadium before Trump arrived, according to the Independent.
Fans filled the stands well before kickoff. They arrived early not out of excitement for the game, but because Trump’s visit meant extra security at the gates.
Few people were talking about Texas defensive back Jelani McDonald breaking up a pass intended for Travis Smith Jr. in the end zone to seal the win. Instead, the viral moment came from the presidential suite.
One image circulating online shows Natalie Harp, Trump’s personal assistant, holding up a laptop for Trump and Tennessee Sen. Bill Hagerty. Both men look toward the screen with their mouths open.
It’s unclear what Harp showed them or whether their expressions reflected shock, surprise, amusement, or simply conversation.
Once the flick made it to social media, many weighed in with their own questions.
“She better not be on the public wifi,” one person said, while another suggested Harp was “Most likely showing him how he was booed.”
“Must be why he left at halftime,” said one Trump detractor. But the real worry wasn’t the Wi-Fi.
Coaches feared headset blackouts. Whenever the president arrives or departs, the Secret Service clears radio signals, which can knock out sideline headsets and helmet radios.
According to Sports Illustrated, that can happen without warning. Both teams arranged security workarounds and prepared old-school hand signals in case presidential security measures disrupted their play-calling.
A stadium announcer alluded to the possibility during the president’s introduction. Thankfully, there were no reports of any interruptions. But still, the boos filled the stadium before Trump left at halftime, leaving many to wonder if his ego took a hit.
Eagle-eyed social media users also zoomed in on Harp, showing her legs in a short skirt, nude heels, and a black trench. At the stadium, she took off the coat and showed off her thighs and pumps.
One person bluntly stated, “Except they’re not really looking at the laptop but Natalie’s flirty little skirt.”
The bare-legged look stood out at a college football game, especially for an aide whose duties can involve following the president from stop to stop.
“Showing off quite a lot of herself too,” one X user said.
The laptop was more familiar territory for Harp. She earned the nickname “human printer” for traveling with a portable printer and handing Trump hard copies of news and social posts.
She is also known for the large bags of electronics she carries on presidential trips. In the suite, she skipped the printout and showed him the screen. What was on it remains unknown.
The 35-year-old’s ties to Trump run deeper than the portable printer.
Harp is a cancer survivor who credits the president’s Right to Try law with giving her access to an experimental treatment she says helped save her life. Her devotion to Trump is well documented in other photos and videos, including one in which she literally ran alongside his motorcade to deliver him a message.
The intensely personal notes she reportedly wrote him and her brother’s statement on her crush have drawn the most attention to their relationship.
Trump got his introduction, the crowd got its football, and Harp got another viral moment. The laptop’s contents never made it into the photograph.
One snapshot turned Trump’s football outing into a guessing game. Texas and Tennessee had the field.
Harp had the internet asking two questions: What was so important that she had to show the president in the middle of the game? And why was she working the suite in stilettos?
