A white man waiting for a flight got his deserved punishment after taunting and threatening a fellow traveler who was Black.
The unidentified angry man is now facing intense backlash online after a video of the confrontation went viral.
The clip showed him recklessly mouthing off in the Frontier Airlines departure area at Denver International Airport.
In footage posted to Reddit, he issued a chilling threat to the Black man, saying “All I know is you’ll be dead, six feet under.” Getting no response, he upped the ante and called him a curse word. When that didn’t work, he commented on the man’s race, calling him a “negro.”
The race-baiting apparently crossed the line. The Black man gently set down his backpack, calmly walked over to the white man, who remained slumped in his seat, and suddenly unleashed a series of slaps and punches that left him speechless and stunned.
When it was over, bystanders waiting for their flights at Gate 54 erupted in applause. As though speaking to an undisciplined child, the Black man’s parting words to the harasser were, “Don’t do this s–t!”
Social media users also cheered him on. Over on Reddit, viewers could not get enough of the clip, with dozens saying they watched it on repeat.
“He finally met the right one. I’ve always believed that people who are this confidently racist have never properly had their [expletive] rocked,” wrote one.
Others agreed, “Dude literally sat there and let himself get slapped around. You gonna throw some bulls–t like that out there, you better be ready.”
Other users dubbed the white man a “keyboard warrior” who “forgot this is real life and not the comment section.”
“Watching racists get their arses whooped is my favorite pastime,” another commenter wrote.
Not everyone was celebrating. Some viewers worried police could arrest the Black man for assault, even as they saw his actions as a response to what appeared to be a death threat — or, at the very least, words that pushed him over the edge.
So far, however, neither man appears to have been arrested. Frontier Airlines has not commented publicly on the confrontation, and authorities have not released any arrest reports.
