‘I’m Supposed to Put Up with This?!’: Elderly White Woman Calls Cops on Car Detailing Business, Then Unleashes Wild Rant Even They Don’t Want to Hear

Two men trying to advertise their business set off a Karen meltdown in Norwalk, Connecticut, and it was all caught on video by Meta glasses.

The young entrepreneurs staged a promotional video for their mobile car detailing business on public property, with assurances from a neighbor that they were allowed to film there. But it was too close for comfort for one white woman who lived nearby. Rather than approach the men directly, she called the cops.

An Aug. 29 video uploaded to Instagram shows her delivering a nearly stream-of-consciousness rant to police — all over two cars under a pop-up tent parked on a public street.

A Wild Rant

The 76-year-old woman’s fiery personality struck a chord with viewers, who got a kick out of how the police handled the situation.

“It’s a good business. People like keeping their cars clean,” said one officer, adding that he’d probably hire them if he didn’t detail his own car.

At one point in the video, the woman admits the street “doesn’t belong to me,” but still runs through a laundry list of complaints, from the cars’ paper plates to how they’re parked.

She then pivots to an unrelated incident involving a different car that had parked nearby on another day. “I didn’t know if he was watching my house to break in, I didn’t know if he was doing a drug deal, I didn’t know if he was having sex or what,” she told an officer.

Later she snapped in frustration at another officer: “You’re telling me I’m supposed to put up with this for the rest of my life?”

‘Main Character Energy’

Viewers flooded the comments to weigh in on her “main character energy” and the police response.

“Did they just tell her it’s a public street and just left her yapping?” asked one commenter on Instagram. Another chimed in, “Funny how she keeps talking as the cops are walking away.”

“Hello, public property is public property. If you don’t own it, tell the state you wanna buy that land,” read one top comment. “If she keeps calling the cops, they’re gonna bring her in one day.”
