President Donald Trump and his staffers are reportedly already preparing for a Democratic takeover of the House after the upcoming November elections. This even as Trump tries to project confidence about the midterms and Republicans’ chances of retaining control.
Sources reveal the White House is allegedly trying to insulate Trump and his cronies from what’s expected to be nonstop investigations into widespread corruption and criminal dealings.
The independent left-leaning website Zeteo reported Tuesday that Trump has already accepted a Republican defeat as if it was “all but written in the stars.”
Plus, the website is citing sources in reporting that the administration already has a plan to try to prevent Congressional investigations into Trump and his family’s dealings.
“We will epically stonewall them on everything we can,” an unnamed White House official told the news outlet. “Everyone is on the same page on this.”
The Democrats’ plan includes investigations and subpoenas involving the Epstein files, Trump’s ongoing and deadly war on Iran, his business dealings, and the now-defunct Department of Government Efficiency or DOGE.
Reuters reported over the weekend that House Democrats are also planning to go after companies tied to Trump rather than trying to impeach the president outright.
Raw Story reports the Trump administration seems to be painfully aware of what it’s facing if Democrats take back the House. Zeteo’s Asawin Suebsaeng describes it as an impending “onslaught of oversight and accountability.”
“The White House is secretly planning as if a Democratic-led House in 2027 is all but written in the stars.” Suebsaeng writes.
“According to sources in and close to the White House, senior Trump officials have started crafting a sprawling legal strategy dedicated to resisting House subpoenas for documents or testimony, involving constantly invoking executive privilege, and defying much, if not most, congressional oversight next year and 2028.”
Suebsaeng continued, “It is set to be the kind of stonewalling conducted by the first Trump White House starting in 2019 – on a cocktail of steroids. Who could blame them, when it looks like the new Trump administration has a mountain of crimes to cover up? (And we’re not even counting the crimes that they know are crimes.)”
Journalist Aaron Parnas wrote on Threads that Attorney General Todd Blanche is already trying to expand Trump’s executive privilege protections, which could make future probes into Trump and his advisers much harder.
A “new memo could even protect certain communications with private outside advisers. So much for accountability,” Parnas added.
Social media erupted in anger and disbelief at the extent Trump and his administration officials will go to subvert the truth, according to critics.
“I hate this corrupt, incompetent and trash administration,” a Threads user agreed.
Another chimed in, “Traitors will be traitors.” “It was and is extremely obvious that Blanche is going to do everything he possibly can to shield Trump,” another said.
