One of John Boyega‘s fans said he should date his “Star Wars” co-star Daisy Ridley, but that probably won’t happen.
Mainly because Boyega doesn’t see her in a romantic way, and she’s spoken for as well. He also said Ridley isn’t his type.
“I swear y’all should be a couple,” the fan wrote on Instagram.
“Lol that’s sis bro ! My engaged sis !” Boyega wrote back. “Besides my preference is more….erm….. brown.”
People responded to his message soon afterward, and some expressed interest in dating him.
“Thanks for the clarity,” one woman wrote on Instagram. “Ready when you are.”
“Welp unabashed unashamed and I kinda love that,” another person stated.
“Nothing wrong with having a preference,” someone wrote, after one person said Boyega should be open to dating anyone.
There was a lot of talk surrounding Boyega and Ridley’s names at the beginning of this year as well.
It happened when one fan said that Boyega’s “Star Wars” character Finn should be with Ridley’s character Rey, since Kylo Ren, played by Adam Driver, died after kissing her in “The Rise of Skywalker.”
“It’s not about who she kisses but who eventually lays the pipe. You are a genius,” Boyega then wrote on Instagram.
Afterward, some called him a misogynist, which he responded to on Twitter.
“You obviously don’t know the difference between a fictional world and reality,” he wrote.
Boyega hasn’t called anyone his girlfriend since rising to fame. But he was spotted with a mystery woman in 2017 shortly before “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” premiered in the United Kingdom.
Plus there was talk that Boyega was smitten with the Nigerian actress Genevieve Nnaji when he complimented her looks in 2018.
“People help me wish @genevievennaji a happy birthday!” he wrote on Instagram. “I pray for more life and wisdom for you. Also i pray that my future wife carries the same facial structure ! Everyone say AMEN.”
