The family of an 18-year-old Ohio woman who went missing after going to a family reunion last week is pleading with the public for help finding her.
A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for any information that leads authorities to find Heavenly Sloan, according to a Crime Stoppers of Michigan Facebook flier.
Sloan was reported missing July 6 when she didn’t return to her Middletown, Ohio, home after attending the family function in Michigan.
“It’s been torture, like living in hell,” the woman’s mother Lacrisha Crawford told Fox affiliate WJBK-TV. “We have to be tired of our children coming up missing and vanishing. Once they are gone, we don’t hear a happy ending. Let’s start changing it with my daughter.”
Crawford told the news station her daughter made it to the reunion Friday, July 5.
“She went to an aunt’s house Friday night, stayed the night with her family, her cousins, and left Saturday morning from there around 10:30, 11 a.m,” Crawford said.
The last time Sloan’s phone was active was 9 a.m. Sunday, and she hasn’t been posting on social media, her mother told WJBK-TV.
The last time Sloan’s phone was used was to call an 800 number, her mother told the station.
She also told her father the morning she went missing that she was going to the bank, to a gas station and then home to Ohio, according to NBC affiliate WDIV-TV. She told him she had been at a friend’s home at the Kirk Ridge Apartments in Ypsilanti until she left at 3 a.m. Sunday morning.
Sloan was driving a 2009 silver Pontiac G6 with dark tinted windows and the Ohio license plate HNK2019, according to Crime Stoppers of Michigan. She was last known to be driving in Michigan’s Van Buren Township area.
The area is just less than 30 miles southwest of Detroit.
Crawford had this to say in a public plea posted to Twitter for her daughter’s safe return:
“We don’t care what the circumstances were. Let’s just put an end to this and come home.”
Sloan was reportedly planning to go to Bowling Green State University as a nursing student.
She is described as 5 feet 7 inches tall and about 130 pounds. The teen was last seen wearing black sandals and dark ripped jeans, authorities said.
Anyone with information about Sloan’s whereabouts is asked to call 1-800-SPEAK-UP. Those who call can remain anonymous.
