Actor Jussie Smollett is donating $125,000 to organizations that he supports. According to TMZ, the “Empire” actor is using proceeds from his debut album “Sum of My Music” to donate.
Smollett is giving money to organizations such as Flint KIDS, South Africa’s SKY Foundation, the Trayvon Martin Foundation, Colin Kaepernick’s Know Your Rights Camp, ACLU, Black AIDS Institute, and the Anthony Burrell Dance School.
Smollett is known for having giving heart. Last month, he met up with Kayden Kinckle, a 6-year-old double leg amputee whom he had discovered on social media. Smollett met Kinckle and his family at a hotel and surprised them with a gift to make the boy’s life easier, gifting the child and his family with a handicap-accessible van.
The actor/singer said that the van is “Gonna be just like a chariot for the Pharaoh.” Earlier this summer he brought Kinckle to the NBA Finals and helped promote his mother’s book, “Stepping Out on Faith: The Kayden Kinckle Story. A Mother’s Journey.”
