A man of Hinds County, Mississippi requested to question singer R. Kelly in court for allegedly having an affair with his wife.
Kenny Bryant filed a lawsuit against the Chicago singer in 2017 for alienation of affection. In legal documents obtained by the Blast, the plaintiff claimed his wife Asia Childress was having an affair with R. Kelly since 2012 and blamed the musician for ruining his marriage.
In Bryant’s heart balm action which allows one to legally sue the person responsible for breaking up their marriage in the state of Mississippi, he plans on questioning Kelly during a deposition at his lawyer’s office. The lawsuit says the question will “continuing day to day until completed.”
The “Same Girl” singer hit back with legal documents asking the judge to dismiss the case, He stated that he knew Childress, but denied ever having an affair with the woman or breaking up Bryant’s marriage.
The man said his wife and Kelly had relations with one another before tying the knot in 2012, but she told Bryant her relationship with the singer was over. However, a few months later Childress allegedly reunited back with Kelly at one of his concerts and the two began having an affair.
Bryant said the fling between the artist and his wife went on for a total of five years. He claimed Childress gave him Chlamydia which was allegedly given to her by Kelly. The plaintiff said he also experienced financial woes after his wife suggested them to move to Georgia which he believes was to move closer to Kells. Bryant said he couldn’t find a job which left him financially in debt. His wife later asked him for a divorce.
Bryant claimed R. Kelly ruined his life and is seeking damages for loss of consortium and alienation of affection. His case against the singer is currently pending.
