Ciara just unveiled the artwork for her new single “Dose” and fans are amazed at how much she looks like the late Whitney Houston.
“New Single #Dose out 9/14!! Tune into @ESPN All Day, Everyday to hear a snippet! I’m soooo excited! 💃🏽,” the singer shared on Instagram Monday, Sept. 10.
The song will be the follow-up release from a currently untitled seventh studio album, which will likely include “Freak Me,” a song released after “Level Up.” The latter release spawned a viral #LevelUpChallenge that saw everyone from Halle Berry to dance instructor Kenny Clutch get in on the craze.
It was Clutch’s video that took the cake, however. After dancing upon learning his son’s leukemia was in remission, Ciara crowned Clutch the winner of the challenge.
Presently, the singer’s one-sided voluminous curls have fans making comparisons to Houston’s look in her 1987 video “I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me).”
“Come thru Whitney teas.”
“💡Giving us WHITNEY!!! Love you Ci Ci! YOUR LIGHT IS FOREVER ShINING!💡”
“So beautiful..remind me of the beautiful Whitney Houston here.😘💗”
“Whitney Vibes.”
“Channeling Whitney and Janet? Love it. Can’t wait to hear it.”
That Ciara would channel Houston on her single cover isn’t surprising. Last year, a very pregnant Ciara shared a viral video of herself giving a tribute to the late vocalist by dancing around her home and lip-synching to Houston’s Chaka Khan cover “I’m Every Woman.” The clip was posted on Ci’s social media channels on the fifth anniversary of Houston’s death.
And much like Ciara’s new pseudo-tribute to Houston, fans applauded her impromptu performance at the time.
“omg I loved this and it made me smile through the whole video… you are so amazing.”
“Ciara I do believe you are Black Girls Magic.”
“I am shook !!!! You better show them CiCi still got it , baby and all 😩”
