Naomi Campbell and British grime artist Skepta recently appeared on the cover of GQ in a steamy photo, which had a lot of people talking. The two also sat down for a joint interview, where they discussed race, politics and a couple of other subjects.
As far as work, at this point in her career, Campbell said she’s no longer concerned with being more successful, she only wants to help Black people through her projects.
“When I choose the job I’m going to do, when it’s offered to me … I don’t give a f— about fame,” she said. “It’s not about that for me. It’s about what does it do for my people now. If I do this job, where can it go? Where does it lead to? What can I do for them? That’s where I’m thinking.”
Campbell also spoke about Donald Trump and how his presidency empowered white nationalists and encouraged them to step up their violence and bigotry.
“For those people that are ignorant, feel now that they can come out openly and show their ignorance because the leader of the free world is showing his,” she stated.

Although the 47-year-old is one of the most successful models in the world and has booked steady gigs for three decades now, she’s often talked about facing discrimination in the fashion world and how it lacks diversity.
Last year, Campbell posted a photo of Vogue’s editorial staff under the former editor-in-chief and called for more diversity going forward. Plus, earlier this year, she criticized the Paris based designer Ulyana Sergeenko, who used the N-word during couture week in a letter to a friend.
Skepta, on the other hand, didn’t seem so eager to talk about politics or racism, which was evident by the way he covered his ears when the subject of Trump came up. Instead, he said Black rappers are being racist towards white rappers and it’s hypocritical.
“One stage, whites were racist to Blacks, but now Black rappers are saying in their songs ‘White bitch, she’ll sniff a line,’ stuff like that,” he explained. “It’s like why can Black rappers say that? If a white rapper said ‘Black bitch … He would get crucified for saying that. I think everybody deep down knows wrong or right, so when people are being racist they know they’re being ignorant.”
