Controversial singer R. Kelly has reportedly tapped former Bill Cosby lawyer Monique Pressley to represent him as reports about his dealings with women at his Chicago and Atlanta homes continue to mount.
Pressley stepped down as Cosby’s lawyer last August after representing him ahead of what would become his mistrial, where a jury deadlocked after days of deliberating three felony charges of second-degree aggravated indecent assault. The Daily Mail reported Monday, July 24, that Kelly has retained Pressley’s services following reports that he has kept women ranging in age from 18-31 in a “brainwashed” state against their will.
Kelly has denied the allegations through his lawyer, Linda Mensch, who said her client was “alarmed and disturbed by the recent revelations attributed to him.” One woman, a 21-year-old model named Jocelyn Savage, told TMZ last week she was not being held captive and assured she was “totally fine.”
Pressley’s law firm, The Pressley Firm, did not respond to a request for comment by press time.
