‘Sons of Anarchy’ Actor Dead in Double Death

Sons of Anarchy actor Johnny Lewis died on Wednesday inLos Angeles, after an altercation with his elderly landlord that left them both dead.Los Angeles police responded to calls from the residents of a Los Feliz area community on Wednesday morning. Neighbors reported a woman screaming and three men fighting at the scene. Upon their arrival, police found Lewis’s body in the driveway, along with that of 81-year-old Catherine Davis, his landlord. The actor is the sole suspect in the woman’s murder, and apparently fell to his death from the roof of the house.

Lewis, 28, was known for his roles on a number of television shows, including The O.C., Boston Public and Criminal Minds. He was currently cast as Kip “Half Sack” Epps on FX’s Sons of Anarchy. According to TMZ, Lewis was renting a room in the home fromDavis, and was likely under the influence of narcotics during the incident.

Police have yet to identify the two men who fought with Lewis, but they told police that Lewis showed “super-human” strength during the 3 or 4 minute encounter. Lewis first attacked both men with a piece of wood before resorting to his fists. Shortly after this, Lewis climbed onto the roof of the building and fell to his death.

Just this year Lewis had two previous encounters with the law, having pleaded no contest to attempted burglary and assault with a deadly weapon in separate cases, according to the Associated Press. He was enrolled in a drug, alcohol and psychiatric treatment program during the summer, and was released from jail on probation just a week ago. One of the stipulations of his probation was not to use narcotics.

Though police were unable to determine if Lewis was on any drugs at the time of the incident, an autopsy is scheduled for later today.
