After almost 14 years, Bobby Brown will be releasing another solo album, entitled “The Masterpiece,” on June 4.
“I simply wanted to create a body of work that will take listeners on a musical journey; the style of music that will allow people to get in touch with their highs and lows and their joys and pain of living through song,” Bobby Brown said about the upcoming solo project in a press release.
Brown’s first single, “Don’t Let Me Die,” is set to release sometime this spring.
“I am hoping to bridge the gap between good old R&B and R&B of today,” his statement said.
Later this month, Brown is scheduled to make numerous television appearances on talk shows including Ellen, The Tonight Show, The Wendy Williams Show and Today.
Brown has also scheduled a wedding date to fiancée Alicia Ethridge. The couple is scheduled to wed on June 15 in Hawaii while Brown is on tour with New Edition. The couple have been engaged for two years and have one son, Cassius Brown.
In an interview with Tavis Smiley, the singer discussed his growth and maturity over the course of his 30-year career.
“I feel that the simplicity of life is just being yourself,” Brown said. “I’ve been there and I’ve done that. I’m a better person now. I’m just happy being Bobby Brown.”
The New Edition tour will celebrate 30 years of the group’s success; they will be touring around the United States from May 10 to Aug. 10. Click here for tour dates.
