Terrence Howard joins William H. Macy, Peter Dinklage, Nina Arianda and Brazilian star Wagner Moura, in Homeland writer, Henry Bromell’s Fellini Black and White.
Produced by Andrew Lazar, the naarative for Fellini Black and White unfolds during a trip the iconic director Frederico Fellini took with his wife Giulietta Masina in 1958 to Los Angeles to attend the Academy Awards, where Nights of Cabiria was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film (and won). On this trip, Fellini disappeared for two days before finally showing up for the awards ceremony.
The legend is that Fellini discovered/was introduced to the West Coast jazz and surf scenes of the era – which is where Terence Howard comes in. Howard will reportedly play a jazz musician who introduces Fellini to the music and scene.
Shooting is scheduled to begin early next year, with Wagner Moura playing the title character, and Arianda as Masina.
As an aside, I should remind you all that one of the many projects on director Lee Daniels’ upcoming slate is a remake of Fellini’s Nights of Cabiria.
