Ben Whishaw Stars As Q In 'Skyfall' Bond film

Ben Whishaw brings Q back to the Bond franchise

The release of Skyfall is just around the corner and things are heating up in the world of MI6. While the action and storytelling are crucial aspects of the bond franchise, the characters have always been the more memorable aspects of the  Bond franchise. One of the most beloved characters that has been missing in the two most recent Bond films is Q, the master of spy tech. But now Ben Whishaw will bring him back.

The first two Bond movies took things back to the basics by eliminating over the top super-villains, and doing away with the silly top secret spy hide-outs and even the loony futuristic sci-fi gadgetry. With the removal of the hi-tech gadgets meant the need for the one franchise character Q, was ultimately unnecessary.

This is not the case with Skyfall. Agent Q will be returning to showcase the latest in MI6 spy tech gadgetry.  His role will be to aid Bond’s mission to protect MI6 after it comes under attack by some people from agent M’s past.

Whishaw’s past movie credits include, The Tempest, Clout Atlas, and Bright Star.

Sky Fall is directed by Sam Mendes (American Beauty).  John Logan, Neal Purvis and Robert Wade wrote the script.  Wishaw will be acting alongside Daniel Craig, Javier Bardem, Judi Dench, Ralph Fiennes,  and Naomie Harris . The film is scheduled for a November 9th, 2012 release.
