Seems like many celebrities are in the spirit of giving! The days leading up to this years Thanksgiving holiday were jam packed with Black celebrities coming together to give back to the community. Everyone from President Barack Obama to Akon rolled up their sleeves and contributed whatever they could to families in need. Blair Underwood and Zoe Saldana teamed up with other celebrities at the 75th Anniversary of the Los Angeles Mission to serve Thanksgiving dinner to the homeless.
Akon’s Konfidence Foundation and the Boys & Girls Clubs of America distributed 300 holiday turkeys to Atlanta families.
Even basketball player Chris Bosh served Thanksgiving meals to those in need at the Chapman Partnership organization in Miami, Florida.
President Barack Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama, daughters Sasha and Malia, and Marian Robinson handed out food for Thanksgiving at the Capital Area Food Bank in Washington, DC.
Yesterday, Big Sean teamed up with comedian Mike Epps to put on a turkey drive back in his hometown of Detroit, Michigan.
And down in the ATL, Young Jeezy surprised residents of the Atlanta Mission with a special Thanksgiving meal, feeding over 200 homeless men.
Its always a pleasant experience to see celebrities pulling their resources together and dedicating their most precious time to do something that not only feels good to them but conveys a message to families in need nationwide that they are not forgotten.
