Florida State Takes Sole Control of 2nd Spot in BCS Poll

Florida State

After this past weekend, the Florida State football team sits firm second place in the BCS poll, slightly behind No. 1 Alabama.

The Seminoles were also No. 2 in the standings last week, but were battling for the position with undefeated Oregon. However, the Ducks lost their first game of the season to Stanford this past Thursday night, and Florida State took a strong hold of the second spot in result.

The Seminoles (.9619) are also second in the USA Today coaches’ poll and the Harris Poll.

Ohio State (.8926) is now third in the polls, but the Buckeyes are closer to fourth-place Stanford (.8689) than Florida State.

Unbeaten Baylor (.8618) is No. 5 in the BCS, but close to Stanford (.8689).

Florida State and Alabama may be headed to the BCS championship game if they can both stay undefeated.

“Just win,” BCS analyst Jerry Palm of CBS.com said about Florida State. “They control their own destiny now. Just win.”
