Motown Records founder Berry Gordy was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Ebony 100 Gala in New York City on Monday night.
Gordy built Motown into an international success with stars like Michael Jackson, The Supremes, and Marvin Gaye, just to name a few. On Monday evening, another act signed under Motown Records, The Jacksons, paid tribute with a performance.
NBA legend and entrepreneur Earvin “Magic” Johnson, funnyman Nick Cannon, actress Condola Rashad, chef Marcus Samuelsson and actor-activist Harry Belafonte were also among the 100 honorees this year.
