Bobbi Kristina Brown announced her engagement to Nick Gordon via social media where she lashed out at critics who say her mother, Whitney Houston, wouldn’t approve of her relationship with the man who has been deemed her “adopted brother.”
Whitney Houston’s daughter has no problem letting the world know exactly how she feels through her social media accounts.
After posting some lovey photos of her spending the day with Nick in New Jersey over the weekend, she announced that she is now engaged to him and there is nothing incestuous about it.
“YES, we me nick (sic) are engaged,” Bobbi Kristina posted on Facebook. “I’m tired of hearing people say ‘eww your engaged to your brother if Whitney was still alive would we be together or would she approve of this.’ Let me clear up something, we aren’t even real brother and sister nor is he my adoptive brother.”
The allegations of Brown dating her “brother” sparked because the late R&B icon raised Gordon ever since he was young. For the record, however, she never legally adopted him.
According to Bobbi Kristina, the I Will Always Love You songstress already knew Nick would be her daughter’s soul mate.
“In fact, mommy was the one who even said that she knew that we were going to start dating,” the Facebook status continued. “My mom knows me better than any of you.”
As for anybody who told the young reality star that they are just looking out for her best interest? She had some choice words for them as well.
“A lot of y’all are saying that y’all are only saying this all out of love,” she added. “Which is bull because if that was so, all you would want is for me to be happy. People need to seriously stop judging my relationship. Pretty sure it’s my own decision who I want to be with.”
She went on to admit that her relationship has tons of “rough patches” like every other relationship, but she is happy with the decision she has made for her life.
Bobby Brown’s 20-year-old daughter wasn’t the only one who was trying to clear up the rumors either.
Apparently, the media finally pushed Nick far enough to launch his own explanation on Twitter.
“Let’s get some facts straight. I’m 24. I moved in when I was 16. Her mother told me to call her ‘mom,’” Nick tweeted. “To everybody’s surprise, she wanted Krissi and I married. She took me in as a son and treated me as such.”
He then explained that he was just a “brother getting sick of everybody having the wrong info” and ready to move forward with his engagement to Houston’s daughter.
