The Internet has gone simply nuts with rumors of a Friends reunion. Some websites have reported a full new season, others have teased a Thanksgiving reunion special. Some sites even claim an entire movie is in the works. Well, I’m sorry to burst your Friends bubble, but none of that is happening. If you want more Friends, you’ll have to stick with re-runs or perhaps try walking away from your computer and making some real ones.
Friends co-creator Marta Kaufman let the entire world down when she confirmed that a reunion is “not happening.”
As seen on E! Online, Kaufman explained, “Friends’ was about that time in your life when your friends are your family and once you have a family, there’s no need anymore.” Ouch, that’s a little harsh, but she has a point. For those of you who aren’t yet in the “family” part of your lives, there are other sitcoms to get you through it. Try tuning into another New York based sitcom, How I Met Your Mother on CBS, or FOX’s fresh and quirky New Girl to get your fix of thirty-somethings hilariously bumbling through relationships, jobs, and family matters.
I know many of you will argue no gang is as good as the original group of Friends, but no matter how much you whine, blog, and tweet, they are never, ever getting back together. So just fugettaboutit and for your own sake, move on. You’ll get through this, I promise.
