R.I.P.D. is one of many movie adaptations of comic books coming down the pipeline. It’s been long-delayed, but it’ll be out in theaters (in 3D, of course) later this year. The first poster for the film showed up at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, and Collider has a pic of it.
The poster showcases the film’s stars, Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges’ Van Dyke. It very unnecessarily explains what the title acronym stands for. RED director Robert Schwentke is in charge. Here’s the synopsis:
R.I.P.D. centers on dead cops who work for the “Rest in Peace Department,” with Ryan Reynolds playing a newly deceased cop and Jeff Bridges taking on the role of his partner, a seasoned R.I.P.D. veteran. The film also stars Mary Louise-Parker, Kevin Bacon, Stephanie Szostak, Marissa Miller, and James Hong.
According to the article, the first trailer for the film will be released later this week. R.I.P.D comes out July 9th.
