Breaking Bad ‘s Jonathan Banks, best known for playing Mike Ehrmantraut for five seasons on the AMC show, will have a new spot on television.
Banks has been cast in the pilot of NBC’s new drama Bloodline. Similar to his character on Breaking Bad, Banks will play Leo Killpriest, a man who is no friend to the law and a patriarch to a crime family.
According to the Huffington Post, Bloodline has been compared to the Quentin Tarantino action film Kill Bill, in that it is a comic-book-like thriller about a girl, Bird Benson, who finds herself torn between two criminal families – one is filled with convicted murders and the other with mercenaries.
Bloodline was created by Peter Berg and Sarah Aubrey (Friday Night Lights) and written by David Graziano who’s works include television shows such as Felicity and Lie to Me.
Banks is just the latest of the Breaking Bad cast to land a job since his stint on the show. Now that the show is nearing conclusion in its final season, fellow cast mates have recently been announced in other upcoming projects as well. Betsy Brandt recently announced that she will play Michael J. Fox’s wife in his upcoming NBC show and Anna Gunn has been cast in Bravo’s first scripted show, Rita.
