The first trailer for Zero Dark Thirty has hit the internet.
Zero Dark Thirty is a film that depicts the ten year manhunt for the infamous mastermind of the 9/11 attacks, Osama bin Laden. The movie will reportedly go into details, following the CIA right into the dramatic attack on a Pakistani compound where bin Laden was living. Navy SEALs were relentless in that attack, which ultimately lead to the killing of the man who was once labeled the most dangerous terrorist in the world, on May 2, 2011.
With presidential elections right around the corner, screenwriter Mark Boal, who claimed an Oscars for Iraq-war drama The Hurt Locker, insisted to that the film highlights the heroes who worked hard to take down bin Laden, not a celebration of Pres. Barack Obama’s decision to authorize the strike that killed him. “There’s no political agenda in the film. Full stop. Period,” says Boal to Entertainment Weekly. “A lot of people are going to be surprised when they see the film. For example, the president is not depicted in the movie.”
As previously reported by Who Got The Role, the impressive cast for the movie includes Jessica Chastain, Joel Edgerton, Mark Strong and Kyle Chandler.
Zero Dark Thirty is slated to be released on Dec. 19, 2012
