NBC has recently confirmed that 30 Rock will end after season seven. The Tina Fey created comedy will get an upcoming 13-episode last season. The last show is slated to be an hour-long finale.
Bob Greenblatt, the chairman of NBC Entertainment, made an official statement to explain the news to advertisers in New York on Monday morning. “I know Tina, Alec [Baldwin] and the rest will deliver some of their best work,” Greenblatt said. “We think the world of Tina and hope she will be in the NBC family for years to come.”
The news comes the day after Greenblatt told reporters that the network wasn’t sure what decision would be made about ending the show.
Baldwin, who stars in the sitcom, hinted that the show will be canceled. “How are you feeling about next season being the last season of ’30 Rock?'” one fan had tweeted to Baldwin last week. “The time is nigh,” Baldwin tweeted back.
30 Rock premiered in October 2006.
