Jake Gyllenhaal is in talks to star in the upcoming movie Motor City.
The actor will play an ex-Army ranger named John Miller who is set up and punished for a crime he didn’t commit. He will go on a hunt to find those responsible for framing him after he’s released from prison.
Gyllenhaal joins a cast of actors which includes Gary Oldman and Amber Heard.
The Hollywood star is the third leading actor attached to this role. Avengers star Chris Evans was previously rumored to have landed the part but the deal faded away.
Albert Hughes will direct the film; Joel Silver and Andrew Rona will produce. Ethan Erwin and Douglas Urbanski will serve as the executive producers and Warner Bros will distribute.
The movie begins shooting at the end of spring in Berlin.
Jake Gyllenhaal was last seen in Source Code, a movie which grossed nearly $150 million worldwide.
