Matthew Perry will be joining CBS’ successful lawyer drama The Good Wife.
The 42-year-old actor will play a recurring role as a charismatic Chicago attorney who heads up an internal affairs investigation of a police shooting.
This will mark Perry’s third lawyer role on a major network. The trend began in 2002 with a guest appearance on the FOX comedy-drama show, Ally Mcbeal. Perry played a cocky big shot attorney campaigning for a spot in Mcbeal’s law firm and her heart. He failed at both in the end.
Perry showed up the next year on NBC’s The West Wing. This time he played Joe Quincy attorney at law, the associate White House counsel responsible for the impeachment of the vice president.
Another lawyer role on The West Wing earned Perry two Emmy nominations for outstanding guest actor in a drama series. Unfortunately for the Friends star , he didn’t win either.
Perhaps the third time is the charm as Perry gears up for his role on The Good Wife.
