As the hip-hop community mourns the death of Chicago rapper King Von (born Dayvon Daquan Bennett), one person mainly affected in addition to his close friends and family is his femcee ex-girlfriend Asian Doll.
King Von was shot on sometime after 3 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 6, in Atlanta, after leaving a downtown nightclub with his group and encountering another group of men in a nearby parking lot. An argument broke out between the two groups, which quickly escalated into an exchange of gunfire between the men even as uniformed police were within view of the two parties.
Von apparently was mortally wounded in the initial round of gunshots before police engaged the groups and fired shots of their own. Atlanta police said that when the melee subsided “Mr. Bennett was not located at the scene, but arrived at a hospital shortly after the shooting, via private vehicle.” King Von would be pronounced dead there, and two others also died of wounds they sustained in the chaotic altercation.
Since then, Asian Doll has flooded her Instagram timeline of memories with her former lover. On Saturday, Nov. 7, she uploaded a throwback video of the two holding each other and listening to music.
“I ain’t gone lie Von I miss you & I’m hurting bad for you this pain feel like it’s everlasting I don’t even look this pretty nomo 🥺❤️,” Asian Doll captioned the post.
Fans shared their empathy and sympathy with the rapper as she continues to process the 26-year-old MC’s violent death.

The two reportedly broke up in August following cheating rumors, and on Oct. 5, King Von tweeted, “Why this love sh– gotta be so complicated.”
While it appeared the two were doing their own things, apparently the feelings didn’t disappear. When news first broke about Von’s death, Asian Doll uploaded a video of herself and the rapper holding and kissing each other.
“Come Hold Me Again, Von… I Can’t Do It Without You I’m Empty I Just Wanna Close My Eyes & Never Open Them Again 💔,” she captioned the post.
The post garnered over 3 million views, with fans pouring in love and prayers to her during this troubling time.
By Saturday, 22-year-old Timothy Leeks, a Savannah, Georgia, man who is himself hospitalized after being wounded at the scene, had been charged with murder in the slaying of King Von.
