It looks like Joe Budden may have some things to get off his chest about his ex-fiancée Cyn Santana dating Brooklyn Nets NBA star Kevin Durant.
Earlier last week, rumors surfaced that Santana and the famed basketball player were romantically involved after he was spotted liking a sexy photo of the 27-year-old model. According to MTO News and their supposed sources, the pair were dating off and on for years, but Santana ended things between them once she and Budden, 39, became an item.
Relationship rumors surrounding Santana and Durant, 31, have yet to be confirmed, but Budden seemingly addressed the speculation on a segment of his podcast this week.
The retired rapper and his co-hosts Jamil “Mal” Clay, Rory Farrell discussed the uncomfortable period of time when a couple are on a breakup. Farrell noted that sometimes it’s a “friend” who’ll try to talk to their friend’s significant other when he’s on the verge of a breakup.
“You know that weird time y’all are together but breaking up,” Farrell said. “I know for a fact things will get crazy. And you know the guy. … It’s one of your friends. He dapped you at the corner store.”
Budden jokingly chimed in and added, “He’s the best ball player in the world. … He only won the last three championships. … He’s only the unanimous MVP. Do you know the guy? I’m out here with the sharks! … That’s my guy right there! What a stand-up guy! She better treat him right!”
He later went on to say, “I’m kidding. These are all jokes.”
Budden and Santana got engaged on Dec. 19 during the podcaster’s Christmas-themed event for his podcast series in New York. They, however, reportedly called it quits in early May after cheating rumors surrounded them.
Several fans had mixed reactions to the pair breaking up.
“I’m happy Cyn left, Joe seems exhausting. Bless up and glow up and maturity on this interview is amazing! 🙌🏽strong women rock!” one person wrote on October 9.
Another added, “Isn’t this the same chick that claims black men treat Hispanic chicks better than BLACK FEMALES, I mean that is what she said 🙄 I guess not 🤣”
The former couple currently co-parent their 1-year-old son Lexington Budden together. Their relationship woes will be played out on season 10 of “Love and Hip Hop: New York.”
