An Atlanta judge on Wednesday added a new rape charge against a man accused of sexually assaulting a woman inside a popular nightclub last month.
Dominique Williams was allegedly involved in a rape that occurred in September 2018, local station WSB-TV reported. Williams, 34, already faces charges in the alleged sexual assault of victim Jasmine Eiland that was streamed on Facebook Live from inside Opera Atlanta on Jan. 19, 2019.
Now a grand jury will listen to evidence and decide whether to indict the father of two on the two charges, WSB reported.
A Fulton County Magistrate Court judge based the rape charge off the testimony of a police detective working the case who said there are two more videos, one from a witness at the club and another from the club’s surveillance system.
“The video then reiterated [Eiland] saying, ‘Stop, please, don’t do this to me,’ ” Detective Katie Reister told the court. “Then the surveillance camera shows them walking out a short time later.”
The young woman was at the club celebrating a birthday when the alleged attack unfolded. Eiland told police someone had drugged her drink, and then violated her on the dance floor. She was already streaming her birthday festivities on Facebook Live, continued filming as Williams assaulted her from behind.
Not long after Eiland’s story made headlines, a second woman came forward to accuse Williams of sexually assaulting her as well.
The woman, who remains unnamed, told WSB-TV earlier this month that she and Williams were on a date when the alleged assault occurred. She said they met on social media and agreed to dinner, during which time she said they talked, laughed and drank moderately. Suddenly, she said she didn’t feel like herself and knew something was wrong.
“I felt woozy,” she told the station. “I knew I wouldn’t be able to drive in the state that I was in.
Hours later, the woman said she woke up in Williams’ bed.
Shequel Ross, Williams’ attorney, was unaware of the second assault allegation and was surprised the judge allowed it, according to WSB-TV. Ross has maintained her client’s innocence and said Williams didn’t assault anyone inside Opera Atlanta that night. She added that several witnessed are ready to come forward to absolve her client.
One of those witnesses, Aris Reeves, took the stand Wednesday.
“I wanted to come forward because I seen everything that went on, and I didn’t want anyone to be slandered because this is a very serious accusation,” Reeves said.
Police arrested Williams on Jan. 29 after he turned himself into authorities. He is charged with aggravated sodomy.
Eiland has since filed a lawsuit against Opera nightclub, arguing there was a lack of security at the venue the night she was attacked.
