Waka Flocka Flame No Longer Has the Fire to Rap, Says He’s Focused on Being a Family Man

There are some older rappers like Snoop Dogg, JAY-Z, and Nas who still put out new music, and it doesn’t seem like they’ll be stopping anytime soon. Then there are other rappers who seemingly tire of the rap game and call it quits while they’re still relatively young.

Waka Flocka Flame falls in the latter category of rappers, because he pretty much retired from music to be a family man.

The Atlanta rapper said at this point other people force him to record new music because it’s just not his focus anymore.

Plus, Waka said he accomplished his goal of making money in the rap game and there’s nothing more to do. And he mentioned that his peers also moved on, so it’s easy for him to do the same.

“I been gave it up,” said Waka after TMZ’s Raquel Harper asked him about retirement. “They booking me. I don’t want to rap. They forced me to put new music out. I did what I came to do. I made past $30 million dollars. Everybody I started with is rich, everybody is happy, everybody got kids. I don’t got nothing else to do. … My right-hand man who was running the streets with me is a pastor.”

Waka’s focus right now is fatherhood, and he and wife Tammy Rivera plan to have a baby sooner than later. But he said people are still holding on to the past and want him to be that same 24-year-old rapper who put out his first album eight years ago.

“Life changed for me,” stated Waka. “People want me to be ‘Hard In Da Paint’ Waka, but I’m 32 years old. I’m a grown-ass man. I just want to be a good husband. I’m about to make a baby next year.”
