Fans flooded comedian D.L. Hughley with support after he announced the death of his father, Charles Ronald Hughley, over the weekend.
“My father has passed!” Hughley tweeted Sunday morning. “He was there and held me when I took my first breath. I was there and held him when he took his last.”

The solemn news drew messages of support from fans and fellow comedians alike, who offered their condolences.
“Sorry to hear of your loss. May he RIP,” wrote veteran actor Glynn Turman.

Hughley shared a similar message on his official Facebook page to his over 2 million fans
