“Power” star Michael Rainey Jr. who plays the role of Tariq St. Patrick, son of Ghost and Tasha, reportedly secured a deal that will pay him twice the amount of money he was making before.
The 17-year-old original contract only called for an annual increase of 4% for the following season, the Blast reported.
However, Rainey Jr.’s new contract doubles his salary.
In season 4 we saw the young Tariq transform into a rebellious teen who dabbled in the world of drugs and crime after being befriended by Ghost’s archenemy, Kanan, played by 50 Cent. The drama came to a head when Tariq’s past caught up with him and caused his sister Raina to be shot and killed trying to protect him. According to the series official Twitter page, in the upcoming season, we will see Tariq try to seek vengeance for his sister’s death. The page indicated that Ghost will learn the truth about how Raina died and he and Tariq will also go head to head.
“With Raina gone, Ghost must face the truth about Tariq. #PowerTV returns July. Catch up on the @STARZ App now. What will happen when Ghost finds out the truth,” the account tweeted.
The series will premiere on the channel Starz, Sunday, July 1 for season 5.
“Power” finally released the trailer in May and it looks like Ghost, Tommy and Kanan are partnering to take down their mutual enemy Dre.
