Jacksonville, FL parents are outraged about the behavior of a white female teacher at Dinsmore Elementary School. The parents accused the teacher of using the n-word in the classroom and playing a “slave game.”
One parent, Maurisha McCants, told WJAX-TV, “She said the N-word. She also stated that she always wanted to have a Black baby, but she didn’t feel comfortable bringing one home because of how her parents would feel about the situation.”
Parents said the school is sweeping their complaints, which were made two months ago, under the rug. “It’s like they’re pushing it under the rug, She’s bringing her personal preferences in the classroom. If you’re a teacher, you’re supposed to be teaching and that’s it.” McCants said.
The teacher is allegedly retaliating against the parents by making the children play a slave game. Another mother who chose to remain anonymous said, “They played a slave game in class. They were trying to tell me it had something to do with a bucket and a rock.”
Duval County Public Schools spokesperson Laureen Ricks told the reporter that the “immediately reported this to both the District Office of Professional Standards and the Department of Children and Families as soon as they became aware of the allegations.”
