7 Disturbingly Racist Children’s Books Designed to Dehumanize Black People

Many would think the world of children’s books would be free of white supremacy and racism, but many would be sadly mistaken. The early 1900s book market was flooded with racist books that demoralized, dehumanized and devalued Black people.

For instance, the 1800s and early 1900s book “10 Little Nigger Boys” depicted Black people in buffoonish, unnatural-looking caricatures and used the n-word frequently.
