After announcing she’d postpone her world tour to “plan” a family, Janet Jackson officially confirmed she is pregnant.
In April, the 50-year-old singer announced she would postpone her Unbreakable World Tour to begin a family with her husband of four years, Wissam Al Mana. To make that happen, doctors required Jackson to “rest up.”
“There actually has been a sudden change,” Jackson said in a video shared on her social media accounts. “I thought it was important that you be the first to know. My husband and I are planning our family.”
Then on Wednesday, Jackson posed for People magazine in a belly-hugging outfit, officially announcing her pregnancy.

She simply told the magazine, “We thank God for our blessing.”
Though this is the first time Jackson spoke about her pregnancy since April, an insider leaked the news to ET Online in May. But the singer has not abandoned her career altogether. After announcing her family planning, Jackson released a video for her song, “Dammn Baby.” She also tweeted photo shoot footage from a magazine spread for Emirates Woman.
Still, recent photos indicate Jackson is now in baby mode. Paparazzi captured the “No Sleep” singer in London on Sept. 27. ET obtained photos, and sources reported the star was shopping for baby furniture at Back In Action. As she left the establishment smiling, her baby bump was clearly visible even under her loose black sweater.
