Former U.S. Congresswoman Michele Bachmann is pointing the finger at President Barack Obama after she says a group of “deranged, rent-a-thug” protesters attacked the Trump campaign and its supporters over the weekend.
Bachmann appeared on “Breitbart News” Sunday to discuss the “violence” she witnessed during a campaign stop in Minneapolis Friday.
“The deranged left was on hand at the Trump event last night in Minneapolis looking for pre-planned, predictably choreographed trouble,” she said. “They were swearing at attendees as we arrived, spitting at whomever they could reach. They weren’t protesting as much as they were looking to beat people up.”
She went on to describe the protesters as “rent-a-mobs” who turned into “rent-a-thugs.”
For the “happy” Trump supporters, Bachmann said the scene was frightening, as demonstrators ran back and forth shouting “F— the police! F— the police.”
So what does President Obama have to do with all this? The former congresswoman claims Obama is to blame for the sanctioned violence committed against conservatives and white people in America.
“When did this become a nation of criminals? I didn’t get that memo,” Bachmann said. “And if you look at it, if you just take a look at how many white people and conservative people have suffered because of violence in the past eight years alone, it will become very clear that this is something only a highly powerful apparatus is capable of organizing. You know, the kind of apparatus we like to call the Obama administration.”
Bachmann even accused Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton of protecting and rewarding the behavior of the protesters who showed up in Minneapolis. According to her, it’s the ‘lawlessness” of Obama and Clinton that has ultimately led to the softening of police.
“It was nothing more than Obama/Hillary’s lawlessness and disrespect for decency playing out on the streets of Minneapolis,” she told the news site. “The cops are essentially damned if they do damned if they don’t. And so what’s happening is that normal, happy America [who are] minding their own business are the ones who are being impacted and assaulted.”
“There’s nothing happening to the lawless,” Bachmann continued. “So we’re no longer able to be in a situation where we go about our lives and mind our own business. Now we practically have to be our own law enforcement because President Obama has prevented law enforcement from protecting us.”
According to Breitbart, the ex-representative has since called on Obama and Clinton to denounce the actions of the protesters. The Clinton campaign has yet to respond to Bachmann’s accusations that the protesters were indeed supporters of the Democratic nominee.
“[Hillary] needs to, and Barack Obama needs to, and Loretta Lynch the Attorney General also needs to disavow this,” she said. These are Hillary Clinton voters. This is what Hillary voters do.”
