George Zimmerman is at it again. It wasn’t enough for him to fatally shoot 17-year-old Trayvon Martin and then attempt to auction off the gun with which he shot him. Now, Zimmerman is going after the late teen’s parents, Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin.
In an interview with the Daily Beast this week, the former neighborhood watch coordinator blasted Travyon’s parents, asserting that “they didn’t raise their son right” because “he attacked a complete stranger” and tried to kill him.
“Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin did everything they could to capitalize on her son’s death,” Zimmerman told the Daily Beast. “She was never a mother figure to him. Tracy Martin couldn’t have cared less about their son. He treated him like a dog without a leash.”
Zimmerman, who was acquitted of killing Trayvon in 2013, said he feels sorry for any parent who loses a child but thinks Fulton and Martin need to have “internal dialogue to see what they should have done better and what they should have done appropriately.”
Racist trolls have come to Zimmerman’s defense, asserting that the wannabe cop has done nothing wrong.
“George Zimmerman may be an a–hole. But he isn’t wrong,” wrote one user in the Mediaite comments section under an article concerning Zimmerman’s scathing remarks on Martin’s parents.
“The Obama administration vilified a guy who shot his attacker in self defense. Just because they are racists for black power,” wrote another.
According to the Daily Beast, Zimmerman followed Trayvon down the street of a gated neighborhood on the evening of Feb. 26, 2012 and contacted police to report the youth, an African-American wearing a hoodie, as “suspicious.” The 911 dispatcher told the then-community watchman there was no need to follow Trayvon, but he continued to do so anyway. Per the Daily Beast, Zimmerman and Trayvon got into a scuffle some time after he got off the phone with police. That altercation ended with Zimmerman shooting Trayvon in the chest.
Zimmerman continued his display of zero remorse or respect for the Martin family last week when he decided to auction off the gun he used to kill their son. The Daily Beast reports that UnitedGunGroup.com, the website that hosted the auction, was swamped with fake offers from internet trolls like “Racist McShootface,” who bid an outrageous amount of $65 million for the Kel-Tec PF-9 pistol.
“One of the firmest offers I have with verified assets is $100,000,” Zimmerman claimed. “There isn’t a set amount.”
Another bid from a troll with the screen name “Tamir Rice” — a reference to the 12-year-old Cleveland boy shot and killed by police last year — also appeared in the list of offers for the infamous gun, Fox59 reports. According to the Associated Press, other ridiculous troll aliases included “Donald Trump” and “shaniqua bonifa.”
But there were also those in support of Zimmerman and his actions.
“Obviously the jury didn’t think it was a murder,” wrote a bidder by the name of Brez Morell in reference to Zimmerman’s 2013 acquittal. “He did nothing wrong.”
Racist internet trolls also came out the woodwork when President Obama’s eldest daughter, Malia Obama, announced her plans to attend Harvard University. Many credited affirmative action as her only way of getting into the prestigious college.
“Another academically challenged affirmative-action parasite steals a place from a qualified white or Asian student,” one Twitter user said.
“We will love to know how did she score on her gpa,” said another. “1K points for her skin color, 200 from affirmative action and the rest from her last name.”
Trolls verbally attacked Lezley McSpadden, the mother of Michael Brown, when she released her book titled, “Tell the Truth & Shame the Devil: The Life, Legacy, and Love of My Son Michael Brown.” McSpadden’s son was shot by white Ferguson, Missouri police officer Darren Wilson. Users left scathing reviews on Amazon, giving the grieving mother’s memoir a rating of one star, Mic.com reports.
“WE ARE DARREN WILSON. WE WILL ALWAYS SUPPORT HIM. WE WILL ALWAYS BACK THE BLUE,” wrote one anonymous user.
In the event that Zimmerman actually sells the gun, he plans to use the profits to “fight Black Lives Matter (BLM) violence against Law Enforcement officers, ensure the demise of Angela Corey’s persecution career and Hillary Clinton’s anti-firearm rhetoric,” according to his auction posting.
“I would take that money and I would make sure that every law enforcement officer and every single civilian who is affected by the Black Lives Matter fraudulent, violent campaign — those officers, those civilians, their entire families — were made wealthy beyond their wildest imaginations,” Zimmerman said.
