Video of a young girl’s shock that President Obama is leaving office has the Internet abuzz. The girl’s grandmother, Caprina Harris, shot the video as she gently tries to break the news to her granddaughter.
The girl cries, “I’m not ready… I’m not ready.” Mrs. Harris responds, “We have to elect another president…” She finally tells her granddaughter that they “can write him a letter” as she hugs and consoles the young girl.
With nearly 3 million views on Facebook and counting, the young girl’s sentiments resonated with others.

The president responded in kind to the young girl:
“Caprina, tell her to dry her tears, because I’m not going anywhere. Once I leave the White House, I’ll still be a citizen just like her. And when she grows up, she can get involved right alongside me. In the meantime, I’ll keep an eye out for her letter, and we’ll always get to celebrate our birthdays together!”
