Inter-American Development Bank Launches Competition to Find New Innovative Start Ups

WASHINGTON, United States, Thursday—The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) has launched a competition to select startups from Latin America and the Caribbean that will participate in “Demand Solutions: Ideas for Improving Lives in Cities” conference later this year.

As part of the two-day conference which begins on September 29 in Washington, D.C, selected startups will have access to a series of events, workshops, inspirational lectures and networking opportunities.

Additionally, over the course of two days, the startups will work with the Fly Garage model, an innovation incubator developed by Mondelez Internacional to be part of a social, collaborative and creative experiment for startups.

Applicants interested in participating in Demand Solutions must be between the ages of 18 and 35 and be founders or co-founders of startups that have been operational for at least six months up to three years.

The startups should be fostering innovations in cities in areas such as: Alternative Energy, Transportation and Logistics, Housing, Urban Farming and Gastronomy, Education, Big Data, Creative Industries, Art and Design, and Citizen Security
