Drones
Bush began using drone strikes in 2004, and the use of the pilotless resource has increased since then. At the end of Bush’s last term, 49 drones had been launched, according to the New America Foundation. Forty-eight were in Pakistan and the other was in Yemen and took out around 356 militants. Obama continued the use of drones and has increased the usage rate. The foundation says that through mid-April 2013, the “U.S. has launched another 379 drone strikes — nearly eight times more than the Bush administration. Of those attacks, 72 occurred in Yemen. As many as 2,895 militants have been killed,” under Obama.
