Things seem to be looking up for West lately as he married the woman of his dreams, Kim Kardashian, and has welcomed a beautiful baby girl into the world. Before that, however, West was going through emotional turmoil. During one of his concerts in 2010, West opened up to the crowd and admitted that he “contemplated suicide.” Hints of suicidal thoughts and dark times are sprinkled throughout the rapper’s music from his song “Power,” where he sings, “Now this would be a beautiful death — I’m jumping out the window, I’m letting everything go,” to his verse on “Clique” where he raps, “Went through deep depression when my momma passed, suicide what kind of talk is that?”

In 2012, the tennis superstar told The Telegraph that a blood clot in her lung wasn’t the only medical issue that was plaguing her life. “I definitely have not been happy,” she said. “Especially when I had that second [foot] surgery, I was definitely depressed … I cried all the time. I was miserable to be around.”
