Pete Rock & Heavy DIn a TVOne “Unsung” special featuring Heavy D, DJ Pete Rock revealed that he was the late rapper’s younger cousin. Rock said that it was Heavy D’s brother Floyd who taught him how to DJ. Natives of Mount Vernon, N.Y., both D and Rock saw success in hip-hop in the ’90s.
Snoop Dogg & Brandy & Ray JRap star Snoop Dogg said in an MTV 2006 interview that Brandy and Ray J are his cousins. He explained that after they discovered they were family, they decided to keep it a secret. Said Snoop, ”We never really told the world because we weren’t trippin’ off of that, but that’s my family.”
