Off The Dome: R. Kelly Proves He Can Sing About Anything

R-Kelly

R. Kelly is  one of the most brilliant singer/songwriters of his generation, but sometimes he can cover random topics and draw them out into a crazy series like he did with the “In The Closet” saga. People that have attended an R. Kelly show also know that he can readily improvise and get the entire crowd to sing to something that he made up on the spot. Now Rolling Stone challenged the R&B legend to make up a few song on the spot in a hilarious video. According to rolling stone.com:

“R. Kelly can write a seductive hit about virtually any topic imaginable – as he’s proved many times over with songs like ‘Sex Planet,’ ‘Sex in the Kitchen,’ ‘Sex Weed’ and many more.  ‘I know how to put it into a melody and make it comical, but sexual at the same time,’ the R&B star explains in the next issue of Rolling Stone. ‘With my gift, I can pretty much write a song out of anything.’

When Kelly dropped by our offices last week, we asked him to write four sexy songs about four randomly chosen topics, right there on the spot.”

Kelly went on to make songs out of random thoughts like  “Italian Hero Sandwich of Love” and  “Sex Newspaper.”

Check out the R. Kelly video above, and look out for his new album Black Panties coming soon.
