Clemson coach Dabo Swinney says quarterback Tajh Boyd will play this Saturday against Citadel. The question of whether the quarterback will suit up came about after he hurt his collarbone in the Tigers’ victory over Georgia Tech last week.
Boyd hit the ground and was slow to get up, resulting in a bruised left shoulder at the end of the third quarter. Clemson’s trainers took Boyd to the locker room for X-rays and he returned to that game a short time later. The physicians said there were no broken bones.
Boyd has thrown for 2,960 yards and 24 touchdowns this season and leads the Atlantic Coast Conference in total offense. The game against Citadel will be his last home game of his Clemson career.
Last Saturday, Boyd pledged that he would play in Clemson’s game on Nov. 23, stating,
“No, man, I’m not going to miss my last game in the valley. I’ll throw a pad in there and I’ll be fine.”
