All Brewer could do was laugh in embarrassment after Paul shaked and baked those ankles, then pulled up to drain the jump shot. Brewer made an attempt to explain what happened on his walk back down the court, but realized it was no hope. After a second look, Paul’s crossover only looked vicious because Griffin tripped Brewer while setting a screen. See for yourself in the video above.
Chris Paul had 21 points and 11 assists, Griffin scored 25 points and snagged 10 rebounds for the Clippers, who improved to 3-0 at home this season. Jamal Crawford also added 18 points to the clippers scoreboard.
The Clippers were down early in the fourth quarter, but rallied 87-86 with a 12-0 run. Crawford scored eight points during the surge, including a jumper with 5:47 left to give Los Angeles a 98-87 margin.
Minnesota responded with a 12-3 spurt to make things interesting. Timberwolves’ Kevin Martin tallied 10 points during the burst, including a dunk with 3:26 left to cut the gap to 101-99.
In the end, Minnesota fell just short of ending a five game losing streak against the Clippers.
