Vince Young Relunctant to Sign Canadian Football Deal

Green Bay Packers release QB Vince Young

Quarterback Vince Young appears to still be hopeful of playing in the NFL and nearly made a team this season.

Montreal Alouettes currently holds his Canadian Football League playing rights and when the organization needed a quarterback negotiated a deal with Young at the position, according to a source.

Consequently, Montreal wanted a two-year contract to acquire Young for multiple seasons to secure their QB issues. Young, though, would only agree to a deal for the rest of the 2013 season. Negotiation subsequently broke down and the Alouettes signed former Ravens quarterback Troy Smith instead.

The former Tennessee Titans starting quarterback had signed with the Green Bay Packers in the preseason, but was released before the start of the season.
