After recurring appearances on every season of “True Blood” since its debut on HBO, actress Adina Porter has been promoted to a season regular for the seventh and final season.
Porter plays Tara’s mother, Lettie Mae Thornton, and joins previously announced new series regulars Bailey Noble (Adilyn Bellefleur), Amelia Rose Blaire (Willa Burrell), Luke Grimes (James) and Karolina Wydra (Violet).
The actress also has a recurring role on another HBO drama, Aaron Sorkin’s “The Newsroom” and she has appeared in the HBO films “Gia” and “Lackawanna Blues.” Her credits also include “Prison Break,” “NYPD Blue,” “Law & Order,” “Saving Grace” and “American Dreams.”
Most recently, she was a guest star on “Grey’s Anatomy,” “American Horror Story,” “Glee,” “The Vampire Diaries” and “House,” among others.
The final 10-episode season of “True Blood” returns in 2014.
