Keep Pushing: Pusha T ‘King Push’ Video

Pusha T released a new video for his upcoming album My Name Is My Name. Pusha dropped a video for his single “King Push,” that features dark visuals to match the feel of the song.

According to complex.com:

“Pusha T releases his new music video ‘King Push.‘ The track features Pusha sticking to his corner boy demeanor, and his wordplay here is impeccable. ‘My first Grammy was my first brick/Red carpet every bad B/More B.M.F. than Billboard/I got a label deal under my mattress,’ he raps over Joaquin Phoenix’s haunting production that features audio sampling effects similar to Kanye West’s ‘New Slaves.’ There might even be a subliminal or two in his latest track, most notably, ‘I don’t sing hooks.’ Take a wild guess who that’s directed at.”

This King Push video reaffirms that Pusha T is trying to bring “real rap” back, by focusing on just the rhymes and performance instead of singing and dancing.

Pusha T also chimed in on his G.O.O.D. Music’s label boss, Kanye West’s latest comment  that he was  “the biggest rockstar.” Pusha said, “When he says these things, man, I don’t think there’s nothing wrong with speaking truthful.”

King Push is the first song from Pusha T’s My Name Is My Name album, which is due out on Oct. 8.
